I offer an initial visit of up to an hour free of charge as it's a great opportunity for you to get to know me and the way that I work. My design service is totally flexible depending on how much you'd like and the scope of your garden and project. As such, it may include some or all of the elements outlined below.
Surveys start at £240. A third party surveyor may be needed for very large or complicated gardens.
If you already have a topographical survey then I will only need to complete a site analysis/assessment. This is necessary to really get to know the garden before the design begins.
Detailed Designs start at £550. Once I have visited your garden I will provide you with a fixed price for producing a Detailed Design. This includes all the dimensions and material suggestions necessary for a landscaper to provide an accurate quote.
Depending on the complexity of the design, there may be additional construction drawings, a setting out drawing, electrical plan and lighting layout. These additional drawings start from £200 each.
If you'd like me to oversee the garden implementation then I will provide an estimate for this service based on the complexity and size of the project. This avoids the % of the overall project cost method, which seems biased towards the most expensive build choices. I always aim to seek good value for my clients.
Many clients are happy to oversee the build themselves and just want me to assist with the tender process. In this instance tender documents are approximately £250 and meetings on site with landscapers are charged individually. The advantage of providing tender documents is that the landscapers will be required to itemise each element of the project, rather than simply providing a lump sum quote.
Alternatively, I also offer the really simple option of providing ad-hoc site visits once the build has begun, the cost of which is variable, depending on the project and distance to site.
These start at £350. Whereas the Detailed Design provides information on broad planting concepts (eg. shade tolerant planting, lavender border etc) and key planting such as trees and focal point shrubs, a planting plan shows the exact placement of every plant in the garden and collates a list of the quantity and size of each plant.
I can supply plants at competitive prices. I source plants from lots of different wholesale and local nurseries as it's impossible to source all the plants needed for a garden from one place these days. This means I'll do all the running around so you don't have to.
If you're just after some ideas, rather than a detailed layout design or planting plan, then I offer garden consultations at £180 for up to 2 hours in your garden packed full of ideas and suggestions. This is a really good option to get you started with confidence.
For £350 you can have a consultation with a follow up written report entailing ideas, inspiring pictures, recommended plants, suggested materials, suppliers and lots more useful info.
